To preserve the beauty and longevity of your unique CYOF hand-painted clothing, we have outlined essential do’s and don’ts in alignment with our care policy. Following these steps will help ensure that your garment retains its original vibrancy and quality.
Do’s:
- Wash with Cold or 30°C Water – Always wash in cool water to protect the fabric and prevent paint from fading.
- Hand Wash Gently – Hand wash with care, avoiding any vigorous rubbing or scrubbing, especially on the painted areas.
- Use Mild Detergents – Opt for gentle detergents suitable for delicate fabrics to maintain the integrity of the paint and fabric.
- Air Dry – Let your garment dry naturally in a shaded area, away from direct sunlight, to avoid fading and preserve color.
- Lay Flat to Dry – If possible, lay the garment flat to dry instead of hanging it, which helps prevent stretching or distortion.
Don’ts:
- Do Not Bleach – Bleach can harm both the paint and fabric, leading to fading and potential damage.
- Do Not Wring – Avoid wringing out the garment to remove water, as this can distort the fabric and damage the paint. Gently press out excess water instead.
- Do Not Machine Wash or Dry Clean – The agitation and chemicals involved in machine washing and dry cleaning can damage hand-painted garments. Stick to gentle hand washing.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight While Drying – Sunlight can cause colors to fade, so always dry your garment in a shaded area.
- Do Not Iron or Steam Directly on Paint – Direct heat can damage the paint. If ironing is necessary, iron the garment inside-out and avoid painted areas.
